How to use 因為…所以…
因為 ♬ means “because,” and 所以 ♬ means “so” or “therefore.”
In Chinese, they are often used together. Put the reason after 因為, and the result after 所以.
| Structure | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 因為 + reason,所以 + result | Because + reason, so + result |
This is different from English. In English, “because…, so…” sounds unnatural, but in Chinese, 因為…所以… is normal.

| 因為下雨,所以我們在家。 ♬ | Yīnwèi xià yǔ, suǒyǐ wǒmen zài jiā. | Because it is raining, we are at home. |
For beginners, using both 因為 and 所以 is the clearest way to show the reason and the result.
