In snow and river;江雪;jiāng xu

Hundreds of hills see not a bird flying by,
Thousands of paths bear not a footprint in sight;
One lone boat carries an old man in a bamboo hat and straw cloak,
In solitude in the river in the snow he angles in the cold.

千山鳥飛絕,
qiān shān niǎo fēi jué,
萬徑人蹤滅;
wàn jìng rén zōng miè;
孤舟蓑笠翁,
gū zhōu suō lì wēng,
獨釣寒江雪。

Annotate and Explanation
This is a poem written by 柳宗元.
Because getting fail on political struggle , he was demoted to Yong zhou city .
He expressed his loneliness and depression through the fisherman.
